During my time teaching photography courses at the Josephine Herrick Project (JHP), I had the opportunity to work with some teenage immigrants who face significant cultural shocks—not just in terms of language, but also in ideology and social environment. Through their works, I can sense their unique ways of observing the world, which also deepens my understanding of the state of marginalized groups. I firmly believe that I share similar challenges with them. Together, we explore familiar and unknown territories, experiencing moments of acceptance and rejection.

In this series of works, I continue to focus on the urban outskirts, delving deeper into the inner worlds of marginalized individuals compared to my previous projects. I remain attentive to often overlooked yet unusual scenes, reflecting the distance between marginalized communities and the social center, while highlighting the undeniable brilliance of individuals within groups that mainstream society often neglects.
